2009 Annual National Convention






The Regional Organizing Network-Western Visayas and The National Governing Board of the Philippine Nurses Association are organizing the National event which is The 87th Founding Anniversary, The 52nd Nurses’ Week Celebration and the 2009 Annual National Convention at Boracay EcoVillage Convention Center and Boracay EcoVillage and Convention Center in Station 1, Yapak, Boracay Island Malay, Aklan Resort, on October 19-22, 2009.

Participants from various healthcare organizations (particularly Nursing institutions)
all over Philippines will gather in one of the most visited and enchanting island (Boracay) , to tackle issues related to the theme Leading change: Building healthier nations.” This is to help prepare nurses become competent, flexible, politically and savvy leaders, able to energize others to adapt change which can be fueled by conceptualizing this event.The Annual Convention will highlight the shared obligation of nurses to be in the forefront of building healthier people. The objectives of the event are the following:

.......... 1. To underscore the role of nurses as change agents for better health;
......... 2. To highlight current trends and challenges in nursing and health care & the potential to overcome them;
.........
3. To provide a platform for sharing best practices, promoting dialogue & encouraging advocacy, capacity building, and communication; and
.......... 4. To foster closer relationships and networking among the PNA chapters in the country.


The convention fee from each participant will be charged to cover needs which include the privilege to attend sessions, snacks for three days, lunch and fellowship dinner, convention bag, materials and hand-outs. For convenience, register in advance. The fee will be discounted if paid or received by the Registration Committee on the following schedules:

......... a. July 1 – August 31, 2009 - Php 3, 200.00
..........b. September 1 – September 30, 2009 - Php 3,600.00
......... c. On site (October 19-20, 2009) - Php 4, 500.00

Reservation for hotel accommodation is the responsibility of the participant. A number of hotels/resorts in Boracay have committed to offer preferential rates for the convention period. Hotels and resorts are with easy access by public transit to the Convention Venue.

Only fully paid registration forms will be confirmed. The confirmation letter will be sent by email or FAX which will include your registration number and other important information. Participants needs to present the confirmation letter and original copy of bank deposit slip at the appropriate registration desk to pick up your official receipt and convention kit.

Cancellation of Registration:

Registered participants who are unable to attend the Convention will have their paid fees refunded. If the notification of cancellation is received before September 15, 2009, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. No refunds can be made for cancellation received on or after this date. All bank charges and transaction fees are on delegate’s account. All refunds will be processed one month following the end of the conference.
